About Us

Kai Nolyn Hollingsworth was born on November 28th, 2007 to thrilled parents, Jasmine and Ryan.

At around 2 months of age, Kai developed, what her parents thought, was a case of breast-milk jaundice. When it persisted, her pediatrician ordered blood tests to test her liver enzymes. At 3 months old, Kai was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare disorder effecting the liver that eventually causes acute liver failure. She needed a liver transplant to save her life.

Kai received a 2nd chance at life on April 9th, 2008. Her Daddy donated 25% of his liver to her and gave her the gift of a lifetime, literally.

Today, Kai is a beautiful, strong and vibrant little girl who loves to spend her days playing, laughing and smiling. She brings joy to everyone she meets and, thanks to her liver transplant, will continue to do so. Her new liver is working beautifully thanks to the wonderful surgeons, doctors and nurses at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has offered donations, kind words and support. Words cannot begin to describe how much it helped us through such difficult times.
